Sleep Industry Experience
Signature Sleep Services (dba SLEEP960) is managed by Dr. Andrea Clark. Her experience and credentials are extensive in the field of sleep medicine.
Andrea began her sleep medicine career as a research assistant and technologist at The Ohio State University’s Sleep Disorders Center in 1979, one of the first sleep laboratories in the country.
Moving on to Houston, Texas, she managed a hospital-based sleep lab and became registered (#162) in 1985 back when the board exam included a practical and written exam. Andrea then advanced to become an administrator over multiple departments, including the sleep lab at Hermann Memorial Hospital in the Texas Medical Center.
Upon leaving the hospital setting in 1999, Andrea set up and managed two freestanding sleep laboratories in the Houston area. After moving to Fort Myers, Florida in 2004, she set up Sleep Management Centers, a hybrid sleep diagnostic and treatment center, and obtained accreditation from both the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and Joint Commission, making it the only dual-certified facility in Florida at that time.
In 2007, Andrea founded the Florida International Sleep School. As a certified A-STEP provider and leader in Polysomnography Distance Learning and Signature Sleep Services, she also provided premier sleep management and consulting services.
Throughout her sleep medicine career, Andrea has served on the Board of the Association of Polysomnographic Technologists (now the AAST) and the Board of Polysomnographic Technologists. When the registry exam included the practical exam, Andrea served as an examiner. She was also a member of the Exam Development Committee of the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT). She has organized many regional sleep meetings over the years, and has been a guest speaker at numerous sleep conferences.
Andrea received her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University, her master’s degree from the University of Houston, and her doctorate degree in business administration specializing in healthcare management from Walden University.
